March is Here!

It’s March! That means St. Patrick’s Day, Spring Break, and two opportunities to win prizes from me.

The first opportunity comes next week on Tuesday, March 10th. I’m participating in Tina Donahue’s Freeing the Beast release party on Facebook. There will be authors taking over FB all day long in celebration of Tina’s new release. I will be on from 5pm to 6pm CST (3-4 Pacific, 4-5 Mountain, 6-7 Eastern). Join me for an hour of chatting about paranormal books and the heroes we love to read about in them. I’m also giving away a copy of Freeing the Beast and some swag.


Also in March, The Romance Reviews is having their 4th Anniversary party. I’ll have a question posted there on Saturday, March 7th. Answer correctly to be entered to win a swag bag from me that includes a Missy’s Minion t-shirt. There is also a grand prize of a $100 gift certificate! All prizes can be seen here. There are more than 350 authors participating, which means over 350 prizes to win!

I don’t know about you, but I’ve had an absolute blast this year on my Birthday Blog Tour. I’ve made some new online acquaintances and hopefully gained new readers, and definitely had a great time giving out prizes!
So, now it’s time for the last one. The GRAND PRIZE. First, I’d like to make it completely clear how I arrived at the winner. I created a database with a list of every blog post for the whole tour. I then added the names of each person who left a comment under the date for the post they commented on. A few minutes ago, I tallied up the comments and they reached 70. Can you believe it? 70 comments all month long! That’s great 🙂
Once I arrived at that total, I took a trip to random.org and let their auto number generator find my winner. And the winner is…

Birthday Blog Tour Update #2

Whew! This has been a hell of a week. I turned thirty-six, had a new release and ran around the web giving away prizes. We’re halfway through my Birthday Blog Tour, so it’s time for an update.
Congratulations to all of the winners so far. Tomorrow I plan to finally get my butt to the post office and put your packages into the system. I apologize for the delay. I’m sending everything regular USPS, first class, which generally takes about five business days. However, if you’re outside of the US please give it extra time.

Also tomorrow, I’ll be chatting all day at The Romance Reviews. This stop is not a part of my regular Birthday Blog Tour schedule, however, I’ll still be giving one lucky reader a copy of my brand spankin’ new ebook, Erotic Images. Birthday Blog Tour Update

Birthday Blog Tour 2011!

 It’s that time again! That’s right, it’s June, and with the first month of summer comes my birthday! Last year I decided to celebrate another year of life by giving away prizes to my readers at different stops around the web. It was awesome. I met new authors wonderful enough to allow me onto their blog, and I met their fabulous readers, gracious enough to read my rants. So, this year I decided to do it again even bigger!

Each day of my tour I’ll select one comment to win the daily prize pack shown above. Then on June 30th ALL comments will be entered to win the grand prize box of goodies pictured to the right, which includes a signed print copy of They Call Me Death!

Where My Royalties Go

My husband likes to tell people I’m his 401K plan. In his mind I will one day have a book (or two or three) on the New York Times best sellers list, a screenplay in the theaters and royalties rolling in faster than we can spend them. Yes, he does live in a dream world. That’s okay, I let him. Why spoil his fun? The truth is I didn’t get into writing, nor do I currently write, to make money. The royalties are nice and certainly help. However, my goal to become a published author was never about how much money I could make in doing so. I write because I enjoy sharing the craziness in my imagination with others. The voices in my head truly do make me write their stories.

Now, that being said, I do still enjoy receiving royalties for my published work and don’t appreciate online pirates who choose to share that work without my permission. I also enjoy creating free stories that I share with readers in various spots around the web. One such place is a new blogging venture I’ve joined in with other published romance authors, known as the Truly, Madly, Deeply Romance blog. My contribution, a short story titled Into the Ocean, will be available on Saturday, March 19th. Readers who leave a comment will also have the chance to win a prize from me. And this is where my royalties come into play. I LOVE giving away prizes to readers. I honestly, truly do. However, I have to be realistic about my budget and can’t give away as much as I would like. Therefore, I limit myself to spending ONLY royalties on reader prizes. So, if I sell a ton of books one month the prizes get better and there are more of them.

March is looking like a great month for my readers. I’ll be adding to my prize pack pickings and hopping onto a couple of blogs as a guest. Each time I make an appearance around the web I plan to give away a prize. Also, I plan to do my Birthday Blog tour again this year in June (my birthday month). Hopefully it will be as much fun as last year’s turned out to be. So, are there any prize ideas you’ve received or seen from other authors that you would like to suggest? I’m taking notes and adding to the pile.
