New Release from Tina Donahue

A hunted pirate captain. A reverend’s daughter determined to bring him down.

On a lush, secluded island, one passionate adventure leads to another….

Diana Fletcher means business. The beautiful, innocent, reverend’s daughter has traveled all the way to a tropical island off Madagascar on a mission: To find her brother—and to punish the man who drove him to a life of piracy. But when she comes face to face with the enemy in question, the handsome, powerfully seductive man is not at all what Diana expected…

Tristan Kent never intended to harm Diana’s brother. A man of humble origins, Tristan claims he tried to save him from another ruthless captain. Diana is desperate to believe he is telling the truth…and that the intoxicating desire that escalates between them is true as well. But can she trust him? Or is Tristan’s story—and his heart—nothing more than fool’s gold? Amid the haze of sensual delights and soaring ecstasy Tristan has in store for her, all will be revealed…

Excerpt:

Tristan brushed his lips against hers, teasing, testing. Diana softened beneath him, proving what he needed to know.

Gently, he eased his tongue into her mouth. The world spun, her thrilling heat snatching his breath and thoughts. He explored her intimately, deepening his kiss. Her taste soon belonged to him, his to her. They were no longer separate. He hoped she’d suckle him and deliver pleasure.

She resisted briefly, then coaxed his tongue deeper into her mouth. Pleased beyond belief, he released her wrists, slid his hands over her palms, and laced their fingers.

She yielded fully. She smelled like an English spring, soft rain mixed with fragrant flowers. He didn’t finish their kiss until she smelled of him. Slowly, he withdrew his tongue, lifted his head, and struggled for breath. “Open your eyes.”

Arousal brightened them, her mouth still wet with him, lips slightly bruised from his impassioned kiss.

His spirits soared. “You desired that.”

“I did not.”

As a clergyman’s daughter, she was a poor liar and would never fool him. “Then I’ll have to continue until you do.”

He kissed her, tenderly at first, then hard and greedy. She whimpered in what sounded like pleasure but held back, not giving herself fully. Finally, she tore her mouth free.

He pressed his lips to her neck. Her breath spilled out on a contented sigh, telling him what words never could. “I’ll not deliver you to Bishop. You belong to me.”

Tina Donahue’s New Release!

My EC buddy Tina Donahue has a hot new release out today!!

A willing slave to possession, punishment, pleasure…

Dreams of a manor where submission and dominance once ruled draws Faith to hypnotherapist Colin Danes. Potently virile, he looks remarkably like her most cherished master from a past life. Desire smolders in his eyes, proving he’s never forgotten her.
Their carnal dance continues in the present and leads to their past when she was known as Eve. Through hypnotherapy, Colin brings her back to the Victorian era, a hidden estate where she eagerly submits to whatever he and her other noble masters crave. The exquisite discipline of the strap. Being bid on and mounted each night. Displayed and used for the enjoyment of all.
Most will take her. One will try to imprison her. Only he will be her true master in that life and this.
Want more? Here’s an excerpt:

Eve was still bathing when he came for her. A man whose presence she’d frequently felt. A stranger she’d often seen riding past this cottage, his steed magnificent, a sorrel with a startling white mane and tail.
At those times, she’d noted the man’s well-defined features, noble bearing, the way his attention had focused on her alone. How his gaze had lingered and possessed, warming her skin, calling to everything female within her, demanding her submission. She’d given it, not moving, scarcely drawing a breath, her work forgotten.
Nothing except him had mattered.
Not once had he spoken or made a demand. During his increasingly prolonged observations of her, he’d been content—or obliged—to do no more than look.
Now, she saw the rope he held in one gloved hand.
Eve’s belly fluttered.
The ends of the rope jumped as he moved past the doorway, his height requiring him to stoop to avoid striking his head. He wore no top hat. Snow dusted his dark hair and shoulders. His ankle-length cloak was of fine black wool, lined with fur, his eveningwear consisting of a dark coat cinched at the waist and trousers of the same color. Fresh milk couldn’t compete with the flawless white of his vest and cravat, tied perfectly about his throat.
He closed the door, bolting it against interruption of what he was about to do.
The thought of it—and the metal’s sharp clack—caused Eve to start. Her pulse pounded fiercely. The candles Mrs. Trumble had lit stopped flickering at the wind’s departure. A few stray snowflakes floated in the air.
Eve felt none of the chill that he’d brought inside, only intense heat, spreading from her chest to her belly and cunt, then to her neck. Her throat tightened, not allowing her to make any sound as he stopped just short of the tub. Close enough for her to see his lushly lashed eyes, of the purest blue, more glorious than any sky.
He regarded her naked breasts to the exclusion of every other part of her and spoke for the first time. “Pull back your arms and arch your back. Present yourself to me.”
His voice was quiet yet commanding, smooth yet rough with arousal.
Unsteady with desire, Eve did as he wanted. She had no other choice. She wanted none. With her back arched and her arms drawn back, she lifted her breasts in offering.
He studied the ripe globes and her tightened nipples at a leisurely pace, moving from one side of the tub to the other to get his fill.
Eve remained a silent, obedient witness to his brazen perusal. Craving and enjoying it, desire pulsing through her.
A small smile touched his lips as her breasts quivered with her
quick breaths. At length, his attention moved lower, to the part of her the bath continued to hide. Its violet-scented water reflected the candles’ flames, which tinted it gold and orange. Warm colors that hardly matched the heat blazing within Eve.
“You know what to expect?” he asked.
She nodded.
“All of it?”
Eve thought not, so she shook her head.
He seemed pleased by that and began, “From this moment forward, you’re never to cover yourself in any of your Masters’ presence. Your breasts, nipples, mouth, cunt, ass and anus are ours to use as we please. Whatever we require of you, no matter how demanding or indecent, you’re to obey with the greatest haste. You belong to us now. We have your agreement. Did you make it willingly?”
Eve had.

Do You Know Shelley Munro? (contest)

Hi, my name is Shelley Munro and I’m a frustrated cat owner.
Let me explain. Cats love my husband and always make a beeline for him if he meets them at a friend’s house, but he doesn’t like them back. In fact, I’d go so far as to say the next door neighbor’s cat and my husband have an ongoing war about trespassing in the vegetable patch. Don’t tell my husband, but I think the cat is winning.
Luckily I’m an equal opportunity pet owner and I find a dog an acceptable alternative. We adopted our current dog Bella from the Humane Society. She’s a real bundle of energy and we both love her to bits.
But back to cats. I decided one day that if I couldn’t own a cat, there was nothing to stop me writing about the species. After pondering the matter and doing a little research, I settled on black leopards and wrote an entire series about them. Take that, Mr. Munro!
My choice of black leopards came after I read a story in the local paper about sightings of a large mystery cat in the South Island. The story fascinated me, and continues to interest me since there are still occasional sightings. Some people say there is a leopard living out in the wild while others scoff at the idea, because we don’t have big cats in New Zealand—not unless they’re in a zoo. I like to believe the stories, although I hope I never come face-to-face with one!

Leopards are interesting cats. Here are some facts about the big cats.

1. Leopards are solitary cats and usually only seek out other leopards in order to mate.
2. They hunt at night and sleep in trees during the day.
3. They’re excellent climbers and often haul their kills up into trees.
4. Leopards are found in many different habitats and countries.
5. Their spots make for excellent camouflage.
6. They are built for short bursts of speed, and their jaws and strong build help them take down big animals.
7. Black leopards are called panthers in some countries. They still have spots but they blend into the leopard’s coat.
Are you a cat or dog person? A feline shifter or a werewolf person?

Do You Know Raven McAllan?

One of my marvelous friends has a publishing company by the name of Just Ink Press, and they have a new release tomorrow from multi-published author Raven McAllen. So, today I thought I’d treat my readers with an intro to Raven and her work.

Welcome to my blog! Can you please tell the readers a little something about you, such as what genre you write and how many books you have published at this time?

Hi Missy, thanks for inviting me here. I’ve brought gluten free cup cakes to go with the coffee. Well, I live in Scotland, land of lochs, glens, kilts, and midges. The first three I love, the last is the scourge of Scotland. A nasty wee nigh on invisible insect with a horrible bite. My DH and I live on the edge of a forest, and rattle around in a too big house now our kids have left home. I refuse to grow old gracefully, and go by the adage you’re only as old as you feel, (and my DH is younger than me!)
I write romance. I’ve totted up and Impulse is my 35th adult book. Goodness! They vary in length from short stories in anthologies to 55+k. Some are hot, some not, and they encompass menage, m/m, m/f, and f/f. They vary from Regency through WW2 to contemporary, and can be paranormal, mystery, or straightforward romance, if there is such a thing as a straightforward romance. The one thing they all have in common is love.

What is your favorite genre to read, and who is your favorite author? Has this author inspired your writing?

You know this is a question I can’t really answer. I just love to read and the eReader now means I have space in my suitcase for clothes instead of the book a day I used to take on holiday with me. A few years ago I was lucky enough to meet Robyn Donald, a Harlequin writer, at her home in New Zealand, and she encouraged me to write. But I don’t really have a favorite author or genre. It really depends on my mood, where I am, and how much time I have to immerse myself in the story.

Your writing is erotic. Do you have any difficulty writing the sexy scenes or are they just words to you?

Well, when I first started I swear I typed some words with my eyes averted… lol. I never used to think so graphically.
The scenes aren’t just words because they are part of the story in my mind, the story I’m telling to my readers. Words make sentences, sentences paragraphs and paragraphs books. I think long and hard once I’ve sorted out what goes where and how, if you get my meaning. I’m conveying emotions and actions and sometimes you need to be graphic in a non basic biological way. Let’s say the only difficulty is making sure its feasible, and having a glass of cold water to hand.

What do you do for fun/relaxation when not writing?

I walk most days with a friend. Read, go on holiday with DH, drink wine, and eat chocolate. Preferably together. And *wink* get inspiration.

What/who inspired you to write your first book?

My Crit group UCW. We met online, taking part in a competition, and set up a group to help each other. Then we wrote a series of short stories together. Funnily enough, Impulse came from mine. But my first book, Wallflowers Don’t Wilt, came about because we were all talking about what we should write and I said “oh, I think I’ll write a Regency menage.” They nagged and pushed me until I did, checked my m/s, and then decided where I should send it. In fact, Doris O’Connor and I still check each other’s stuff before we send it off. We call it ‘rediting’ short for red-penning.

In your new release, who is your favorite character? Why?

It has to be Mia. She is so out of her depth, doesn’t want to be there and then thinks, “oh well, what the heck.” But she’s feisty, funny, and questions everything. I think we both were amazed at how her life changed.

Sounds very interesting. I can’t wait to read it! Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Happy Reading,
Love R x

Sensuous stories to seduce your soul…

Do You Know R. C. Murphy? (new release!)

Editing for the Forces of Good

By R.C. Murphy

You’ve finished the first draft of your book. The pages zip out of your printer and you make a pile in the center of your office to dance around in a fit of pure joy. Nothing, nothing can bring you down off of Cloud Nine. In that moment, you are convinced nothing so brilliant has ever been put to paper. It is a wonderful feeling . . . until you send your brilliant manuscript to an editor and they hack your baby to pieces and feed it to the wolves.
Okay, I’m exaggerating a little. But in the heat of the moment, it feels like you’re watching someone rain all over your hard work.None of us are perfect. I have an amazing editor who I’ve worked with on my last two releases. Despite my newest book, Enslaved, having a pretty clean manuscript (her words, not mine), things popped up during editing I couldn’t fathom being there in the first place.
For instance, a mysterious tense change from past to present at random intervals starting halfway through the book. Despite all my complaints, (Word must have changed it after being swapped from .doc to .docx, aliens abducted the manuscript to make me look silly, demons ate the proper words!) I knew it was my fault. I got caught up in the heat of creating new, exciting words and went on automatic while writing. It happens. We
aren’t gods, even though we are responsible for creating whole new worlds and universes.
Going through the editing process also gives you a chance to run your newborn manuscript past another set of eyes. The editor can’t read your mind and must rely on what is on the page to tell the story. If there is a weird gap in the action or a character veers too far from where you’ve established, there is someone there to wave a flag and say, “Yo, wait! This doesn’t make a lick of sense.”
Editing has been cast as the bane of a writer’s existence. However, I’ve used each round through the editing wringer as a learning experience. Each time I come out with more information to help me write the next manuscript cleanly. A clean MS means less time in post-production before publishing (if you are self-publishing or going through a small press publisher). Basically I’m telling you to suck it up, listen to a professional editor (or read the heck out of editing guides), and become nice and friendly with the editing process. It would be a shame to spend months, years on a book just to have it ripped apart by readers due to simple fixes you could have fixed by taking just a little more time and editing it thoroughly.
My favorite editing tip? If your dialog is a constant problem, read it out loud. Each character should have a different rhythm to how they speak. Hearing it will allow you to tweak the dialog to fit the character. Also, you’ll sound crazy. But hey, most writers are anyway, right?

Why witches ROCK – CiC Blog Tour Day 7!
Thanks to Missy for letting me stop by for the blog tour today! Caught in Crimson has been out for a few days now. Anyone read it yet? If not, make sure you enter the contest at the bottom and you’ll be in the running to win not only awesome gift cards and free ebooks, but you’ll also have your chance to get the whole Spellbinding series before you can buy them!
Today I’m going to talk a little bit about why witches ROCK.

It’s hard to find pictures of a sexy witch. Powerful women are feared, and with fear comes hate. And let’s face it, when we hate things we say they’re ugly. So society has definitely embraced the idea that witches are old hags with hooked noses and warts and straggly hair. Of course, if MEN were more often depicted as witches, do you think we’d see the same trend? I don’t, but that’s a soapbox for another day. 😉
One of the coolest things about writing a powerful heroine like a witch is that she can be kick-ass, strong, and gorgeous all at the same time. As a reader, I love to step into the shoes of a main character that’s powerful.
What do you guys think? Are witches given an unfair shake in books and art? Let me know below!
And don’t forget to enter the Rafflecopter Giveaway!!

Do You Know Jocelyn Dex? (contest)

You may have noticed I love hosting other authors here, though I don’t do it on a regularly set schedule. But what’s even better than hosting random authors? Hosting my sisters from the same wonderful publisher! Please welcome Jocelyn Dex.

Hi. I’m Jocelyn Dex. Araya’s Addiction, an erotic paranormal romance, is my debut short novel. It features “Sempires”, a species of female demon that requires semen to survive. I’m totally excited to share the blurb, the cover and an excerpt with you today.

Araya’s Addiction Blurb

When Kean wakes up naked, collared and locked in a cell, he knows thinking with his dick has finally gotten him into trouble. Kean, part Incubus, enjoys scorching and frequent sex. One night, he finds himself a prisoner forced to help a Sempire rescue her daughter from certain death.
To gain his freedom, Kean must provide Araya with his semen to save her life, but she refuses it, even though the lust between them is undeniable. Determined to escape and to help Araya, Kean ups the stakes and forces Araya into a situation that makes it impossible for her to continue refusing him. Feeling betrayed, Araya enacts a scheme to get Kean out of her life. Her best laid plans may awaken emotions that will bind them to each other forever.
Araya’s Addiction Excerpt

Kean’s body ached in ways he’d never experienced—a burning, piercing agony. A groan escaped his lips as a cooling sensation comforted his neck, then his brow. He struggled to remember what he’d done to make himself feel so horrible. Had he pulled a massive drunk and this was the worst hangover of his life?
“Are you awake?” A small, feminine voice asked.
Wait. Had he brought a female home with him? No. He didn’t bring females to his home. He went to theirs so he could get out when he wanted. He must be hung over at his latest conquest’s home. Why couldn’t he remember anything? He struggled to open his eyes. Damn things felt glued together.
He growled as soon as his eyes focused on the frail female bent over him and the memories flooded back to him. What the hell had happened? What had the demon done to him? And wait, why was she wiping him down with a damp cloth?
“What’d you do to me?” he croaked.
Her eyes widened. “Nothing,” she said in a small voice, the weakness in it unmistakable.
“Bullshit.” He tried to sit up but his head pounded and spun so he stayed down.
“You’ll feel better soon. Just don’t try to hurt me again.”
She stood on shaky legs and ambled to the bed where she selected a pillow and brought it back to where he lay. She wore nothing but a short green satin robe. She helped him lift his head enough to slide the pillow under and then placed the damp cloth across his forehead.
The small effort she’d made seemed to have exhausted her. She sat on the floor a couple feet from him, knees pulled to her chest, her chin resting on her knees and her breathing strained. He could snap her in half with two fingers.
“What’s your name?” she asked him.
He ignored her question. “Shouldn’t you be scared right now?”
Her lips lifted at the corners. “Scared of what? A helpless, naked man laid out on my floor?”
Oh yeah. He forgot he was naked. Hell, she could at least look a little embarrassed. But helpless? Him? Hell no. His male pride forced him to stand even though every muscle in his body screamed in protest, and his head felt as if an ice pick was being shoved into his gray matter.
He swayed on his feet, but damn it he’d stay standing if it killed him. “Kean.” He answered her earlier question through gritted teeth.
She clucked her tongue as she stood. To his satisfaction, she also swayed, although he didn’t know why.
“I’m Araya. Why don’t you have a seat before you fall?” she suggested. “I think I’ll do the same.” She moved to the bed and lay on her side facing him.
He chose the chair closest to him, not because it looked most comfortable, but because he felt he would collapse at any second.
Again he asked, “What did you do to me?”
She sighed. “It’s the collar. As long as you don’t try to harm me or my family, you won’t experience that pain again.” She frowned. “You’re stronger than the others. They were out for at least an hour. You were only out for fifteen minutes.”
Others? How many others had Talith brought here? And why? The girl was not a goddess like Talith, but she wasn’t so unattractive that no man would submit to her without being abducted and collared. And her eyes… The golden color mesmerized him. He would fuck her if the circumstances of their meeting were different. He should have known mother Sempire wouldn’t leave him alone with her daughter totally unprotected.
“What’s wrong with you?” He didn’t give a shit, but he needed to gather all the information he could.
She grimaced. “It doesn’t matter.”
“It matters to me. I’m the one who was abducted, collared and locked in this room with you.”
“I’m sorry about that,” she said. The sincerity in her voice surprised him. “My mother is determined to help me.”
“And my semen will help you?”
Finally, she blushed.

Do You Know A. B. McKinley?

I first read the name A. B. McKinley about a year or so ago when a reader who had befriended me on Facebook suggested I check him out. When I saw he was a Scot who wrote a romance I was seriously intrigued. What is a man who was born in Glasgae and was once a member of the British Special Forces doing writing romance? Check out his website for a chance to find out.

BLURB

Scott Maclaren, a strong Special Forces Scotsman, is terribly injured during his tour of duty in Afghanistan. His journey begins with a broken heart after his wife leaves him for another man during his time in the hospital. Traveling across the Atlantic to visit family, his story now begins.
After years of physical therapy and being alone, things were about to look up. Katie Johnson, a beautiful Ohio schoolteacher, was where his ‘dream’ of passion and love were to become reality. Smoldering embers became a passionate, raging fire between them. A wanting and desire that burned for one another as neither had ever experienced before.
Scott’s love for Katie and her two girls would lead him to great lengths to make all their dreams come true, including a six-month security contract in the Middle East. The money would ensure financial security for life.
The contract was to secure the safety of a young attractive businesswoman, Britney Parnell, who is accustomed to getting what she wants… and she wants Scott. She wastes no time in making her yearnings known. All can see her motives, but Scott. His only thoughts while in Baghdad are to keep her safe amidst terrorist attacks, shootings and bombs exploding all around them…
This sensual, sexy adventure begins with the ultimate betrayal and is filled with action, intrigue, passion and steamy love scenes.
Inspired by true events…

BLURB

After his recent adventures in the Middle East, all Scott Maclaren wanted to do was relax. He looked forward to his new life as a family man.

This sixth installment of the Always a Marine series for Decadent Publishing and a first for the series, as a spinoff of Retreat Hell! She Just Got Here. Jazz, Logan and Zach met via a 1NightStand. This is the business name of an exclusive online dating service run by Madame Evangeline who provides her clients with the possibility of happily ever after or happily for now.

BLURB:
At the end of their night of frenzied passion, Jazz Winters walked away from the only two men who’d ever made her feel like a woman. Logan Cavanaugh and Zach Evans let her go, but only if she swore all her future leaves to them.
Waiting fourteen excruciatingly long months, visiting Jazz when they can, is harder on the guys that they like to admit. But their work at Mike’s Place, a veteran’s rehabilitative facility, only lets Zach and Logan go one at a time. Jazz fears their unconventional relationship can’t last a lifetime. The stress of years of military service in hot zones, combined with life-threatening injuries pushed her to the edge. But when she comes home a wounded warrior, not the woman she believes they want, Zach and Logan are right there to help her, even when she resists.
She’s not alone. Whether she chooses one or both, they have no regrets and they won’t surrender.

Fun Facts
It is hard to believe that the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq have endured for more than a decade, and yet no one in the military or their families have been unaffected by these conflicts.
While all three characters are Marines, it was an interesting idea to examine what life was like for the guys on the other side of the sandbox with Jazz serving overseas and they keeping the home fires burning.

Have You Met Tracy H. Kitts?

Why vampires and do they have to be naked?
By
Tracey H. Kitts
A lot of people (relatives in particular) have asked me why I write so much about vampires. I write werewolves too, but vamps seem to draw the most attention. At least, it gets the most questions. The truth is, I write what I like. When I was in school I read every book that had anything to do with vampires. Anything I could get my hands on that had vampires in it, I read it so thoroughly it could be considered studying. I also wrote a few short and semi-erotic stories about werewolves just for fun. Of course, they weren’t up to par with what is considered erotica now, but it was pretty sexy to me and my friends.
I always knew that I wanted to write professionally some day. It wasn’t something that just came to me out of the blue or something I did on a whim. Everything I have ever done in my life I have viewed as “good writing material.” I knew that each experience, whether it was a job or a relationship that went wrong, would somehow end up in my books. In the case of bad relationships, it could be considered therapy. Ha. Ha. Of course, names have been changed to protect the guilty, but there are a few of those along the way.
Since I always knew I wanted to write and I have always been drawn to vampires, it seemed only logical to me that’s what I’d write about. The other question I get even more often than, “Why vampires?” is “Why sex?”
The short answer: Why not?
Now, for something more in depth:  I love science fiction, but find it grossly lacking in sex. Ha. Seriously, I enjoy a good story but what I also enjoy is a good romance. I used to read the really old romances, the ones you could find at garage sales and such. So, they were really outdated and for my tastes, too … sweet. I wanted a heroine who could kick ass and take names. I wanted someone I could identify with. Someone who wasn’t “pure as the driven snow,” and all that crap. I wanted someone real.
Of course, I also wanted a hero who was sexy beyond imagination. I don’t want the guy next door. Let’s face it, unless Hugh Jackman lives next door, none of us are really interested in normal guys, are we?
I also have a deep love of fantasy. So, you take all that, mix it together (shaken, not stirred) and you get paranormal romance. Paranormal romance is really an adventure for women. We just happen to find romance to be part of the adventure.

I write what I like to read. Why would I try to sell something to someone if I didn’t even like it myself? That’s ridiculous. I love vampires and if we get them alone in the story, someone bettertell me what they look like naked! I don’t know about you, but I’d feel cheated otherwise. Of course, I’m okay with waiting for such a moment (like in the case of a series, which I enjoy writing). But once we get there, I want details. Ha. Ha.
The last and probably best answer I could give is this: Writing is wish fulfillment and so is reading. Who hasn’t fantasized about living forever with some gorgeous hunk? Tall, dark and immortal sounds pretty darn good to me. To never grow old, never get sick and die. And let us not forget, eternal love. I think these are all pretty strong fantasies that most people can identify with, even if they don’t get into the whole, “Bite me,” thing.
Unfortunately, in the area where I live most people just see it as macabre. For the rest of the fang baitout there (like myself), please check out my latest release. LOL For everyone else, I do hope we can move beyond that some day.
My latest release is Bitten and it’s available at Amazon.
