Valentine’s Scavenger Hunt with 24 Authors!

February is almost upon us and that means Valentine’s Day! Don’t worry if you don’t have a sweetheart to celebrate with this year. I’ve got a sweet deal for you instead: 24 authors, 8 days of fun, blog posts and a scavenger hunt.

Coffee Time Romance & More is celebrating V-day with a scavenger hunt just for the readers. There will be 3 blog posts per day, each with a link to that author’s website or blog. Click on the link and find the special clue, then at the end of the contest period see what message your clues spell out. Enter that message into the Rafflecopter (link provided with the last blog post) and you’re entered to win a Samsung Galaxy Tab® 4 NOOK® 7.0!

But that’s not all. Each of the 24 authors will also be giving away prizes. The more blog posts you comment on, the better your chance to win one of the many great gifts being offered. All blogs will be posted here beginning at 2 am February 3rd CST, through 8 pm February 10th. All winners of the individual author contests will be announced on February 12th, but the grand prize will be given away at the end of the month.

Contest Time!

Guess what’s happening this week! On Friday, June 14th I will have my twelfth book released. However, it’s my tenth from Ellora’s Cave Publishing. So, to celebrate I’m running a contest and giving away a $10 virtual gift card to either Amazon or Barnes and Noble (winner’s choice). To enter all you have to do is click the link and follow the directions here:

One entry option is to leave a blog comment. I meant to have a whole schedule of blogs for the week but life has kept me busy. et this post serve as the one to comment on. 😉

Also this week, I turn 38 on Saturday!! I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. At least I can say I’ve survived this long. Let’s see, I’ve survived the millennium apocalypse, the Mayan apocalypse, and having two teenagers. Now if I can get through the inevitable zombie apocalypse, having two more teenagers, and a possible alien invasion, I should be good.

So, what are you waiting for? Go forth and enter my contest. Good luck!

Do You Know Susan Mallery? (contest)

Long-Lost Loves

Remember that boy from high school, the one who you thought about while listening to romantic songs on the radio, by yourself, in the dark, sobbing because he didn’t return your feelings? Remember how seeing him in the hallways at school made your breath catch in your throat? And if he caught your gaze and smiled at you, your spirits soared.

Remember him?

What if he was your best friend? And what if you went to his house before school one day so you could walk together as you always did… only he was gone?

Gone-gone. The doors were open, the closets were empty, and you never saw him again. He just… disappeared.

That’s what happened to Patience McGraw when she was a teen. As JUST ONE KISS begins 15 years later, Patience is at work in a salon in Fool’s Gold, California when Justice returns.

“Patience?”
She didn’t recognize the male voice, but turned anyway. A man stood in the entrance of the shop. He was tall, with dark gold-blond hair and deep blue eyes. His shoulders were broad and he had the kind of face that would be happy up on a movie screen. Nice, but she had no idea who he…
She felt the cape flutter to the floor as she really looked at the man moving toward her. He was a few inches taller, a lot more muscular, but his eyes… They were exactly the same. They even crinkled when he smiled at her.
                “Hello, Patience.”
She was fourteen again, standing in that empty house, more scared than she’d ever been in her life. There hadn’t been any answers. Not then or since. No solution to the mystery. Just questions and a gnawing sense that something had gone terribly wrong.
“Justice?” she asked, her voice more breath than sound. “Justice?”
He gave her a slight shrug. The familiar gesture was enough to send her flying across the shop. She flung herself at him, determined to hang on this time.
He caught her against him and held on to her nearly as tightly as she held on to him. He was warm and solid and real. She pressed her head against his shoulder and inhaled the scent of him. A clean, masculine smell that had nothing to do with the boy she remembered. This wasn’t happening, she thought, still dazed. Justice couldn’t be back.
Yet he was, and here. But the man was very different from the boy and the moment got awkward quickly.

Justice has returned to Fool’s Gold to open a bodyguard academy with a few of his ex-military buddies. (This is Fool’s Gold, where we go light on danger and heavy on humor, charm, and fun, flirty romance.) Justice leapt at the chance to return to the town that took him in at a very tense point in his life, and he was eager to see Patience again, his sassy, beautiful friend.
She’s just as open-hearted as she was back then, unstained by the darkness in the world, darkness he lives with every day. The moment Justice holds her in his arms, he vows to protect her from himself. Patience is everything good and pure in the world, and he won’t ruin that. She draws him like sunlight on a cold day, but though he can’t resist the need to be near her, to kiss her, he won’t allow himself to fall in love.

Enter the JUST ONE KISS blog tour contest once a day every day from May 28 through June 9 for a chance to win a $25 Amazon or BN.com gift card! And because this blog was set up by Fool’s Gold Cheerleader __CHA-CHA_, if you win, she’ll win a gift card, too!

Are you still in touch with the boy or boys you had a crush on in high school? Did they grow up to be as cute as you thought they would?

2012: Year of the Reader

2012 is nearly done and so it’s time to look back and reflect on what kind of year I had professionally. There were ups and downs and even a couple of lateral movements, but for the most part I’d call it a very successful year for me as an author. And who added to that success? My readers of course. I met quite a few new ones online and even a couple in person. I found new ways to interact with readers and put myself out there a little more. I thoroughly enjoyed it all and consider 2012 the Year of the Reader.

So, to celebrate and thank my fabulous readers for all I accomplished in 2012 (because without you what was the point?) I’m going to give away a tote bag of goodies.

All you have to do to enter is tell me which of my books you’ve enjoyed the most and why. Now, no cheating. Don’t go reading a review and taking from someone else’s opinion. It doesn’t have to be explicit detail, just enough so I know what scene or chapter in which book you’re talking about. Then add your email addy to your comment and you’re entered.

To sum up, I sold over 945 ebooks and at least 33 print books (not all the year’s numbers are in yet) in 2012. I attended one writer’s conference and one reader’s conference. I had three new releases and finished writing nine books. Overall a very successful year. However, I do hope to make 2013 even better. I already have one release planned with more certainly in the works.

So THANK YOU readers!! I appreciate each and every one of you. Take your time considering your comment below. I won’t draw a winner until January 6, 2013.

Blurb:
Claiming Magique
Book One – Appointment with Pleasure series
Tina Donahue
A man at the center of power…a woman who won’t be ruled…
They call her Magique.
Sought out by the District’s elite, she’s no ordinary call girl, deciding who will pleasure her for the evening. Her preference is for several men at once. Games of bondage and submission heighten her arousal and desire to have a strong male take her…to be adored.
Lobbyist Hunter Prescott was only looking for a good time, not a woman who unleashes a hunger so deep it changes his world. He won’t stop until Magique is his alone, a prisoner of his lust, powerless against his growing need for her body and heart.
With this man, resistance isn’t allowed. For this woman, he’ll create a world of sensual delight and yearning like none she’s known. Proving that only with trust and true surrender will she find unparalleled rapture.
Excerpt:
The name she uses is Magique.
French for magic. According to Hunt’s client, who’d paid close to twenty grand for tonight’s “date”, Magique was available only when the mood hit her.
Hunt had laughed at the notion, asking, “Seriously?”
“You won’t be grinning if she doesn’t choose you,” Jack Kilhan had said.
Nearly as rich as Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, Jack was a VIP client at Givens and Strobe, the firm where Hunt, David and Tim worked. Hunt had helped get legislation passed that saved Jack’s companies a lot of bucks and regulatory headaches. As a reward, Jack was providing the coming hours with Magique.
That is, if she chose Hunt.
“Seriously?” he’d asked the man again, dutifully sobered this time.
Jack pursed his lips and drew hard on his illegal Cuban cigar, releasing aromatic smoke with his words. “She doesn’t do this for the money, Hunt.” He offered a knowing smile. “She doesn’t need to.”
Really. “She has a day job? She’s a lobbyist too? Someone’s aide? Part of the POTUS’s inner circle? His mistress?”
Jack smoked his cigar.
Hunt pressed on. “If she doesn’t need the money for living expenses, then why does she do it?”
“Why do you or any man?”
Dumb question. They craved sex, the high of an orgasm, the warmth of a body and close comfort without any of the nasty complications.
“Hey,” David said, real quiet as though he feared being overheard. His Asian features were tight with concern as he studied Hunt. “You all right?”
He was horny as hell and hadn’t even seen her. What the fuck was the matter with him? He enjoyed women, always had—for sex and an occasional friendship, not anything soul shattering, knowing how easily love could become a weapon. He’d seen enough of that shit as a child.
Had Jack been putting him on with that she-might-be-inaccessible crap? There was only one purpose for tonight…unrestrained indulgence. For her, him and his buddies.
“She prefers three guys at once,” Jack had informed. “Rather than one on one.”
Hunt wasn’t about to question why.

Friday Fireworks Blog Hop

Welcome to my Friday Fireworks Blog Hop Post!!

If you’re here that means you’re hoping to win a Kindle Fire. Good luck and don’t forget to visit the other author’s sites!

So what is special about today other than your chance to win the blog hop? Today is the 35th anniversary of the release of the original Star Wars. So, it’s time to let my Geek Flag fly and let ya’ll in on a little(ish) secret. I’m a HUGE Star Wars fan. Like, a convention going, Yoda loving, Princess Leia emulating, Star Wars fan.

The original Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, was release on May 25, 1977. At the time I was only two years old, but at some point in my youth I saw the movie. I remember having all the little action figures and asking my mom to roll my hair up into buns on wither side of my head. I LOVED Luke with a passion only a pre-pubescent fan girl can truly feel. However, it wasn’t until much later, with the release of Episode I: The Phantom Menace, that I was able to live out my passion to it’s fullest measure.

In May of 1999 I attended a Star Wars convention in Denver, Colorado and realized I’m actually pretty darn normal. There were people of all ages in all forms of costumes. There were more Slave Leias than I could shake a stick at and Storm Troopers galore. I was in heaven. The icing on the cake came in the form of a rap concert put on by Ahmed Best, the voice of Jar Jar Binks.

Not only was the room full of nerds with no rhythm or self respect, but various Star Wars VPs arrived as the night wore on.

I got to ogle, er…meet Ray Park. The hot actor beneath all the red and black make-up of Darth Maul. He’s not only super sexy in person but a really sweet guy. He’s also an amazing martial artist.

Uh, yes. That is the boob of a Slave Leia on the right side of the photo. Sigh.

Aside from the late night rap session, there were also life-sized models of various characters and some of the vehicles used in the film. It was a once in a lifetime experience I’ll never forget.

So here’s a bonus question, apart from the Blog Hop, that can win you a prize just from me. In the comments below tell me either which Star Wars character you would love to meet in person, if you ever had the chance, or if you’re not a fan, which movie you’d love to attend a convention for? The winner will be drawn via random.org tomorrow and posted here. Don’t forget to add your email address in your comment. What’s the prize? A $5 gift certificate for Samhain Publishing.
